Soweto Derby: Where will the goals come from?

- Strikers
Chiefs
The goal Bernard Parker scored against Mamelodi Sundowns on Tuesday was an absolute beauty and it came at the right time, just before the Derby. The last time he scored in a league Derby was 2011/12. It could be his day to end the drought against the Buccaneers.

Pirates
Thamsanqa Gabuza has found the back of the net three times this season. The former Golden Arrows man is no stranger to scoring against Chiefs, having done so on two occasions in 2016. If he does not score, it could be a day for young Lyle Foster to score a first senior team goal. It would no doubt be a day to remember.

- Set pieces
Chiefs
Siphiwe Tshabalala has scored from free kicks in the past and boy would Amakhosi supporters love it if he can find the back of the net with one of his beauties. He is a man that usually rises to the occasion on Derby day.
Having players such as Erick Mathoho, Siyabonga Ngezana and Daniel Cardoso also gives Amakhosi a chance of finding the back of the net when they win set pieces in the opposition's half.

Pirates
Mpho Makola
He has not been at his best for a while now, but Makola remains a threat whenever set pieces are awarded just outside the opposition's box. On Wednesday night Makola struck the crossbar after Pirates were awarded a set piece just outside the Platinum Stars box. He packs a lot of power in his right foot.

- Wingers
Chiefs
Joseph Molangoane scored against his former side in last season’s Derby and will go into the game high on confidence after his impressive performance against Sundowns on Tuesday. He is definitely one who can upset Pirates.

Pirates
Thabo Qalinge has established himself as a key player in coach Milutin Sredojevic’s starting line-up and is slowly finding his confidence again.

- Unlikely heroes
Chiefs
Willard Katsande has popped up to score in this clash, netting the winner in the 1-0 victory over the Buccaneers in March 2014. He also scored in the 1-1 draw in January 2016.

Pirates
He does not score many, nor does he have the height, but Abbubaker Mobara is not the type of player that can be ignored in the box when there’s a set piece.
