Jonevret has shown an aura of charm since being unveiled at the beginning of last week, which is an element that appears to have rubbed off positively on the squad.
“He has brought in good energy into the team because everyone is looking forward to coming to training and then going to the game at the weekend. So that means he brought something new to the team,” says Manyisa.
Having gone to their worst ever stretch of games without victory, Manyisa reveals that Pirates have had to start from the bottom.
They have also had to identify the problems that have led to that 10-game winless streak which he admits has hit them hard psychologically.
“We think we have to start from the bottom now and take one game at a time and make sure that we work as a team so that we can make our supporters and club happy again.
“We know that we are conceding silly goals yet at the same time we are able to score goals. The only thing that we noticed is that we have to fix our concentration levels.
“Psychologically it has hit us very hard but we are footballers and everything can’t go the way we want. We have to get up, dust ourselves off and go there to work for the team and the supporters,” Manyisa says ahead of the latest edition of the Soweto Derby.
