Micho reveals Orlando Pirates' Soweto Derby inspiration

The Buccaneers reignited the long-lost spark in their rivalry with Amakhosi and allowed their supporters to walk away from the FNB Stadium in jubilant spirits, thanks to a 3-1 victory.

With this encounter often not living up to its hype, Pirates flipped the script and asserted their revival under Sredojevic and Rhulani Mokwena this season, as they remain within four points of log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

“It was a dream finish to the week, where we really took care of all the details,” said Sredojevic.

“I want to give credit… I’m here in front of you, but I want you to see my brother Rhulani and other members of the technical team, together with all the players that represented.

“We worked very hard throughout the week. On Tuesday we went for a team building aspect and watched the ‘Black Panther’ film.

“We, as a sports brand, are represented in that historical African film [through the crossbones sign], and it was a special injection of motivation to us to go and prove a point [against Chiefs].”
