The Swede has overseen the last two games – both of them 1-1 draws against Polokwane City and Kaizer Chiefs – and while he has avoided defeat the much needed win has proved elusive.
Next up is a home game against SuperSport United tonight at Orlando Stadium (19h30) with memories of what happened at Mbombela Stadium in November still lingering.
“It is no shortcuts here,” says Jonevret.
“It is hard work and I think there is progress and hopefully we can win the next game, we are playing again on Tuesday and it is going to be a tough one against SuperSport. Can we play again like this against Kaizer Chiefs, why shouldn’t we do it against SuperSport on Tuesday,” he notes adding that he is encouraged by the look on his players’ faces as they seek to get out of this predicament.
“Many of them are taking steps, at least they look happy. It is difficult for me to say because I was not in charge earlier but I think there are a few players that are really taking the chance now,” he says.
Two of the January transfer window arrivals Thembinkosi Lorch and Dove Wome looked useful on Saturday giving Jonevret reason to feel positive.
