Chiefs will host a struggling Pirates outfit that have suffered two hefty defeats at the hands of SuperSport (6-1), after which coach Muhsin Ertugral immediately announced his resignation, and again away at Sundowns (6-0), when fans invaded the pitch, since their last meeting.
With a new coach at the helm, the Buccaneers have yet to show a turnaround in their form as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Polokwane City in new coach Kjell Jonevret's first game at the helm last weekend.
With Chiefs currently on a seven-game unbeaten run, 'Rama' says they have taken notes from the two mentioned clashes on how to unlock the Bucs defence, but argues that the Soweto Derby always calls for a much stronger approach.
"We did watch those games, but obviously this is a different game," defends Mphahlele. "When they play against Sundowns and SuperSport, they don't treat it the same when they play against us.
"Their motivation is not the same when they play against us so we have to be ready for anything, because you know when they play against Chiefs they don't want to lose against us.
"I've played twice against them now and I see a different Pirates whenever they play against Chiefs, so we have to be aware and alert of the danger that they can pose."
