Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela reaction to Soweto Derby with Orlando Pirates

The Soweto Derby stalemate saw Chiefs reclaim the Absa Premiership summit from Golden Arrows on goal difference with 14 points from seven games.

Komphela said: "Whatever you want to say, as long as there are no goals scored, it doesn't hold too much water. But what I thought was happening, when having possession, we were not as swift on transitions,  we need to be quicker. There were stages when it was our turn to be in control."

The former Maritzburg United boss felt on another day the likes of Hendrick Ekstein could have decided matters when he volleyed over from inside the area just before the break.

"The ball played by Pule over the bar, also the one from Jabu as well. Yes, scrappy match, but we said beforehand matches of this calibre are won through small margins.

"But I am delighted with the clean sheet. The performance, I must look over it later to see more with my head than my heart."
