Otladisa allowed to face Pirates? Riveiro responds

Jose Riveiro has responded to questions over Katlego Otladisa's eligibility to play against his parent club when the Soweto giants square up against Sekhukhune United on Wednesday.

Pirates are in what many consider a must-win Betway Premiership encounter against Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium, with Mamelodi Sundown having extended the gap at the top of the standings to six points, although having played a game more.

A full complement of points will see the gap narrow to three points after 13 matches played.

However, Bucs face the possibility of playing against one of their own in Otladisa, who is spending the rest of the season on loan at Sekhukhune.

Some clubs - most notably Sundowns - have implemented clauses as part of the loan agreements that prohibit players from playing against the parent side, presumably to maintain the competitive edge.

The question has now been raised to the club on whether Otladisa, who has registered a goal and an assist for Sekhukhune in his six appearances, will be allowed to feature on Wednesday.

"Katlego? As far as I know, he can play," Riveiro told journalists at a recent press conference.

"I think there was a case with someone else last season (Goodman Mosele played against Pirates while on loan at Chippa United), but I'm not sure now.

"I'm going to ask (get clarity) - it was a long week, sorry."

Kick-off is at 19:30.
