New Al Wahda head coach Pitso Mosimane has doubled down on his stance that Bafana striker Percy Tau is the best player in Africa.
The pair go as far back as the days of Mamelodi Sundowns where Mosimane, with Tau in the team, clinched the CAF Champions in 2016 among other silverware.

Mosimane also signed Tau to Al Ahly in 2021 from English Premier League side Brighton.
"I always say that he (Tau) is the best player in Africa, You can say no and (but) you need to argue with me why,"
"Who is the [CAF Champions League] champion? He is the champion of Africa so why is he not the best? How many trophies? Everyone says, 'ah you took him to Al Ahly,' do you see the trophies he's won at Al Ahly? how many did he win at Brighton? He was hardly even in the team.
"Is he (Tau) getting short-changed financially? [he earns] the same or more. That's what I made sure of. That Percy is proper and everything is alright and you can judge me and say, 'ah you brought him to Al Ahly' but I brought him to play in the club World Cup against Flamengo.
"I'm bringing to play [in the Club World Cup] against Real Madrid. When is Brighton going to play Real Madrid?"
Tau is set to end his season on a high, on the back of a personal best campaign in a Red Devils' shirt, having contributed eight goals and five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions.

The 29-year-old is also in the conversation for the CAF Champions League Player of the Tournament, having played a starring role in a title-winning campaign for The Club of The Century.
Tau scored five goals and five assists in the continental competition and also become the first South African footballer to win the coveted trophy with two different teams.
