Club coach Sboniso Vilakazi, coach of the KZN academy during this year's edition of the Durban U-19 International Tournament, will also jet out of the country for a three-week learning experience with Sporting Lisbon.
Players that are going to Sporting Lisbon are:
Romario Morris (18), Simo Mbhele (17), Sanele Nene (18), Sibusiso Magaqa (18), Sphephelo Sithole (17), Dylan Stoffels (17) and Zola Jingxi (18).
Stoffels and Jingxa are currently affiliated to AmaZulu and were registered for the coming season in the National First Division.
Sithole will also be going Benfica, Real Masana and Belenenses if he can't make it at Sporting Lisbon.
Meanwhile, Graeme Pratt (18) is the only one who will not be going to Portugal, heading instead to Scottish side Glasgow Rangers.
Incidentally Pratt revealed before the Durban U-19 tournament this year that he would like to play for them one day and even bagged a goal against them in the group stages.
Khanyisa Mayo, who was top goal scorer and player of the tournament in Durban, will also be going out of the country to trial at Sporting Lisbon.
Meanwhile Safa technical director Neil Tovey, who was also in attendance for the players' send off, said going to sending these boys overseas will help them, and South Africa, tremendously.
"This has huge benefits for us. As I have said all along, we don't have enough players abroad. In the past we used to have lot of players in all the leagues in Europe and it benefited us a great deal," he said.
"I've said it all along that it will make them mature and they will become strong mentally.
"I think this is opportunity for them to get out of the comfort zone, to go overseas, to go to foreign shores and to ply their trade and show how good they are and that will benefit us all."
