Percy Tau and Teboho Mokoena ruled out for Bafana Bafana after contracting Covid-19

In the first match since the sacking of Molefi Ntseki, the national team who are aiming to move into a new era and prepare for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers have been dealt a blow.

The new-look squad will be without Tau and Mokoena, who both contracted Covid-19 and have since been placed under isolation, while Sipho Mbule has also been forced to withdraw due to being in contact with his SuperSport United teammate.

Both players were notable absentees for Matsatsansa's final game of the season on Saturday in the 1-1 draw to Chippa United.

With new head coach Hugo Broos in Belgium for his Covid-19 vaccination, his assistants Cedomir Janevski and Helman Mkhalele's will take charge of Thursday's clash against the Cranes at Orlando Stadium.
