Kaizer Chiefs star Njabulo Blom eager for Bafana Bafana debut

Blom is in line to become only the 34th player to make his debut for Bafana Bafana while on the books of Chiefs when South Africa take on Zimbabwe and Ghana in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying action on 3 and 6 September.

The Amakhosi midfielder, who was an unused substitute during Bafana's 2-1 win over Uganda in June, is currently one of 24 players in Hugo Broos' squad and admits that the opportunity to finally make his debut is one that excites him.

"It means a lot because now I am representing the entire country. Whenever I get the opportunity, I have to give my best. Everyone will be watching. I have to keep my head on the ground and focus. It means a lot to represent my country, not every player gets this opportunity."

The 21-year-old's latest call-up comes on the back of an impressive domestic campaign with Chiefs, during which he made 46 appearances across all competitions and played an instrumental role in the club reaching the CAF Champions League final.
