Mbappé was a notable absentee during France's 2-1 friendly win over Ivory Coast on Friday after being ruled out of the encounter with an ear infection.
The Paris Saint-Germain star has since recovered and Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps confirmed that he will be available for selection against Bafana Bafana.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, South Africa coach Hugo Broos lauded the qualities of the 23-year-old and highlighted the challenges he anticipates facing from the former AS Monaco star.
"Even when you have a plan to neutralise him, there will still be one moment in the game that he's gone and that he scores.
"I would have liked that my colleague on the other side [Didier Deschamps] would have done the contrary and let him play against Ivory Coast and not against us but it's also a challenge for us to play against such a player.
"We know his qualities so we will not have surprises with him but on the other hand, how we are going to neutralise him is another thing."
These sentiments were echoed by Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams who was quick to acknowledge that France posed a threat all over the pitch.
"He is obviously one of the best players in the world at the moment but it's a challenge for us and it's one that the players are looking forward to," Williams added.
"We want to give a good account of ourselves and we won't focus on him, we're focused on the whole team because they are a very strong team.
"We will just go out there and believe in our qualities and play as a team. If we stick to the game plan and stick to the structure, everything should be fine for us."
