Ex-Kaizer Chiefs winger William Twala joins Madan Maharaj in India

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates winger William Twala has completed a move to Indian second division side Madan Maharaj.

Twala, who most recently represented GladAfrica Championship side Pretoria Callies, has completed another move abroad after being confirmed as a new Madan Mahajar signing over the weekend.

The 31-year-old previously played in Iraq with Erbil SC and follows in the footsteps of the likes of countrymen Sameehg Doutie, Sibongakonke Mbatha and Cole Alexander to have played in India.

"Madan Maharaj Football Club completes the signing of the biggest profile ever in the history of I-League Qualifiers," the club announced on Friday.

"Former South African National Team forward William Twala joins Madan Maharaj FC."

Twala started his professional career with Pirates in 2011 before going on to represent Golden Arrows, Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United and Free State Stars, while he also enjoyed three spells with Chippa United.
