South Africa's stars walked away as the big winners at the 2021 COSAFA Cup awards ceremony after guiding Bafana Bafana to a fifth title in the competition.

South Africa were crowned COSAFA Cup champions in Gqeberha on Sunday after recording a 0-0 (5-4) penalty shootout victory over guest-nation Senegal at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The hosts emerged triumphant at the competition for the first time since 2016 following a remarkable campaign in which Bafana Bafana did not concede a single goal and ended as the tournament's leading goalscorers.

It came as little surprise, then, that a host of South African players walked away with top honours at the post-match awards ceremony, where AmaZulu midfielder Siyethemba Sithebe won the Man of the Match and Player of the Tournament honours.

Captain Veli Mothwa won the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award after keeping a clean sheet in each of his five matches, while Bloemfontein Celtic star Victor Letsoalao won the Top Goalscorer gong after netting four times in the competition.

Lastly, surprise package eSwatini, who claimed an impressive third-place finish, added to their bronze medals by walking away with the Fair Play award on the night.
