2020 Olympic Games: David Notoane reflects on double pre-tournament defeats to Egypt

South Africa are set to travel to Tokyo, Japan, next month where the national U23 team will take part in the Olympic Games for just the third time in the country's history, having previously featured at the 2000 and 2016 editions of the competition.

As an alternative, a double-header was arranged against continental rivals Egypt, who have also booked their ticket to Tokyo, earlier this week, but left South Africa with more questions than answers after the team suffered disheartening 2-0 and 3-0 defeats across the two matches.

Despite the disappointing results, Notoane was upbeat about the experience his players will have gained from their trip to North Africa, and was particularly pleased to have had the opportunity to work with the country's overseas-based stars.
