Samir Nurkovic's case against Royal AM continues to drag on just a day after the DStv Premiership club issued a statement celebrating that the FIFA-imposed transfer ban had been suspended.
Royal AM stated that in elevating their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the transfer ban has been suspended with immediate effect.

The KwaZulu-Natal club has been sitting on a FIFA imposed transfer ban for a week after failing to make the payment claim due to Nurkovic as per the order from FIFA.
Nurkovic won his claim for breach of contract against Royal AM in June and after months of silence Royal AM issued a statement on Wednesday, July 12.
"In a significant development, CAS has informed all parties involved, through a correspondence received and notified on Tuesday, 11th July 2023, that the transfer ban has been automatically uplifted and suspended immediately upon CAS's admission of Royal AM FC's appeal against the decisions rendered by FIFA," read part of the statement from Royal AM.
However, within hours Davor Lazic – who represents Nurkovic in this case responded insisting that the transfer ban remains in place.
"Following yesterday's announcement of Royal AM FC please note that the following publicly announced information according to which "the transfer ban has been automatically uplifted and suspended immediately upon CAS's admission of Royal AM FC's appeal against the decisions rendered by FIFA" is simply not correct and it only intends to mislead both public and the National Soccer League.
"Namely, a ban from registering new players internationally and a ban from registering new players at the national level, delivered by FIFA on 3 July 2023, were never uplifted and consequently are still firmly in force today, 13 July 2023, which is a well-known fact to Royal AM FC as well," says Lazic in bis response.
The statement from Royal AM read:
"Royal AM FC, is pleased to announce that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has officially notified the club, Samir Nurkovic, and FIFA about the initiation of arbitration appeal proceedings," reads the statement from the club.
"These proceedings have been lodged by Royal AM FC against the decisions rendered by FIFA.
"Royal AM FC confirms that the appeal was simultaneously submitted to CAS along with an application for urgent provisional, preliminary, and conservatory relief against the transfer ban imposed on the club.
"In a significant development, CAS has informed all parties involved, through a correspondence received and notified on Tuesday, 11th July 2023, that the transfer ban has been automatically uplifted and suspended immediately upon CAS's admission of Royal AM FC's appeal against the decisions rendered by FIFA.
"Adhering to established protocol, Royal AM FC has forwarded the correspondence received from CAS to the National Soccer League (NSL) for verification and implementation.
"NSL, as the governing body, will now undertake the necessary steps to ensure that the suspension of the transfer ban is fully recognized and enforced accordingly.
"Royal AM FC is delighted by the current turn of events and eagerly awaits the outcome of the arbitration appeal proceedings.
"The club remains committed to maintaining transparency and abiding by the rules and regulations set forth by FIFA and other governing bodies," read the club statement.
