More remembered for his physique more than his footballing abilities, Djiehoua was a muscular bulldozer whose game revolved around harassing and intimidating defenders.
The Ivorian was signed by Kaizer Chiefs with the hope that he would be the perfect replacement for Collins Mbesuma at the beginning of the 2005/06 season, but he never got close to producing what ‘Ntofontofo’ did for Amakhosi. Maybe the expectations were just way too much on ‘Jehova’.
Minus his power, Djiehoua offered little else in his game and could have been mistaken for a rugby player on any given day. A football fan on the streets will simply tell you that Djiehoua was just not Chiefs material.
After failing to make the grade at Naturena, Djiehoua was graciously loaned out to Thanda Royal Zulu where he fared much better, though that never vindicated him into being classified an average striker.
After one season in Durban he left for Turkey, and has since gone on to play in the obscure leagues of Azerbaijani, Greek third tier league and was last heard of playing in the Turkish amateur league after a brief spell in Tunisia. He might return to South Africa as a nightclub bouncer!
