Arendse has yet to move to a new club since his departure from Sundowns in December last year and runs the risk of turning 37 in November still without a club.
"But then it is not the case on my side because I still feel in the right condition to contribute as a player. The unfortunate part in South Africa is that the worry is more on your age than what you can still do on the field. What is forgotten is that when you bring experienced players what is forgotten is what they are going to bring to the team and the club. It is about the presence and making a difference in developing the players that are there already.
"If there are youngsters who are looking to play for Sundowns, (Kaizer) Chiefs or (Orlando) Pirates you can inspire them by interacting with them while guiding them through training. But then with the age factor here in South Africa once you are 35 people will just say 'no' yet when you see the guy in motion then it is a different story.
"In my case, I'm still looking around because my body can still carry me some more and my hope is that something happens. I'm not down and out yet as far as playing professional football and this is why I'm still keeping myself sharp. If someone comes, I'm available and hopefully, it happens soon," says Arendse.
Arendse spent eight years at Sundowns after joining from Santos in 2012 and has always been a model professional even through periods when he wasn't playing.
