Tlhopie is set to be officially unveiled as the new club president after his father and club owner Patrice Motsepe was elected as the new CAF president last week.
Motsepe Jnr is set to be assisted by Rejoice Simelane and his mother Precious Moloi-Motsepe in his new role in the club.
Mngqithi has described Tlhopie as a very intelligent and principled person capable of taking Mamelodi Sundowns to greater heights.
"The least I can tell you is that this is one of best decisions a father can take," said Mngqithi in a recent post-match press conference.
"Tlhopie is a very good boy, very intelligent, very humble, very principled. For me there is no chance he will fail and also he has us as adults to assist him.
"And because he is humble, it's easier for him to grasp all the right information that can make him become a top leader. Honestly speaking, I am looking forward to seeing him take charge because I know what he is capable of.
"Fortunately he has been working with us in many other projects in the team and one thing I can tell you if you have not met him, he is a very good person, you will like him.
"He is destined to become one of the best leaders that can lead Sundowns and I am confident he will make it."
