AmaTuks produced a teamsheet listing 17 players but only 15 players were available for the game.
The Tshwane side listed both Ronald Ketjijere and Grant Kekana as substitutes, but neither were available for the game as they were playing for Amatuks Reserve in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge Final against Mamelodi Sundowns at the Nike Centre in in Soweto on the same day.
Monyai confirms that both Kekana and Katjijere were supposed to join the squad for the match against Aces but were delayed because of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge Final went into extra time (AmaTuks winning on penalties).
"We have a small squad and the arrangement was that both Ronald and Grant Kekana will join us after the MultiChoice Diski Final, but that game went to extra time. Yes there were on the team list but ended up not sitting on the bench,” he explains.
Despite having a depleted matchday squad, University of Pretoria managed to beat Mpumalanga Black Aces 2-1 in Tshwane yesterday with goals from Thabo Mnyamane and Vuyisile Ntombayithethi.
