Supporters Forum: It's not acceptable...

In this edition of Supporters Forum, Mamelodi Sundowns supporter Bullie James expresses her frustration with Miguel Cardoso's tactics as the side’s journey ended on Saturday.

Police were called in after angry Sundowns fans surrounded the team bus following their defeat to Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 semi-finals at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

"As a Sundowns supporter, I'm stressed and traumatised. It's painful to lose in the MTN8, and we have not been lucky in this cup competition," says James.

"It's frustrating to lose to Pirates in the cup. We've faced this disappointment again. The Sundowns team does not seem serious about winning a knockout competition.

"We scored first in the first leg, and then Pirates equalised. The same thing happened again on Saturday. After that, we were punished in our own home ground.

"The supporters are very angry.

“We cannot be a team that only wins the league. We also want to celebrate winning cup competitions.

"Our coach lacks a Plan B. I always support coaches, but I am not happy with the outcomes of the last two games in the MTN8,” she added.

While James is not actively advocating for Cardoso’s departure, she believes the former Esperance tactician needs to find the right combinations.

“It’s not acceptable to score first in a game and still fail to win. Some teams in England can score early and still manage to win 1-0.

"I'm not blaming the coach alone. The assistant coaches and players also play a role. There was visible tension after the match outside the stadium, which is harmful to the Sundowns brand and our sponsors.

"To all Masandawana, I know you are very angry, but we need to find a way to control our emotions. There is a proper way to voice our grievances.

“However, the coach must make a plan, as we are hungry for domestic cups."

The Brazilians will be hoping for better luck on Wednesday as they visit Kaizer Chiefs in a Betway Premiership game at FNB Stadium (19:30).
