Stars earlier this month confirmed the appointment of Troughton, who joined after being shown the door at First Division side Stellenbosch FC following their failed promotional play-off campaign.
The Northern Irish tactician has since been assesing his squad, who have been in pre-season preparations for more than a month now, and has already indentified key players he will be depending on in the 2017/18 campaign.
"I just hope he can play as many games as we wish next season. We will need his experience and his high work-rate. [Thamsanqa] Teyise has also been doing so well thus far."
As earlier reported by this website, Jantjie is on the radar of a number of Gauteng-based clubs, but Troughton is banking on the 28-year-old to stay put and help the club make amends for their dismal showing last season.
