In this edition of My First, KickOff interviews former Silver Stars and AmaZulu FC star Stanley Kgatla.
The 42-year-old former defensive midfielder from Tzaneen in Limpopo also played for clubs like Mpumalanga Black Aces and Highlands Park.
My First School:
"Miragoma Primary School in Tzaneen, Bolobedu. That's where I come from. 1987 is quite a while ago, so I can't remember much about my first days at school. I was only 5 years old and quite nervous."
My First Kiss:
"To be honest, I don't even remember [laughs]."
My First Favourite Club:
"Like any kid, I followed the majority in my neighbourhood and supported Orlando Pirates."
My First Child:
"I was blessed with my first child at the age of 23. He is a boy."
My First Soccer Boots:
"My first pair was bought for me in 1997. They were adidas Argentina, purchased by my father. Initially, I wanted the Jomo Sono King boots, but they were too expensive at the time."
My First Red Card:
"I don't have many red cards, but the only one I remember is the one I received against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium while I was with Silver Stars.
"The late Scara Ngobese was still at Chiefs, and Shoes Moshoeu was also part of the team. That's the day I got my red card."
My First Goal:
"It was against Kaizer Chiefs in Rustenburg. Rowen Fernandes was in goal for them. I took one look and could see he was far out, so I crossed the centre line and unleashed a long-range shot."
My First Individual Award:
"After winning promotion with Silver Stars in 2002, I received the Most Improved Player award."
My First Trophy With A Club:
"I won my first trophy in 2006, the Telkom KnockOut, with Silver Stars."
My First Car:
"I bought my first car in 2005, it was a Polo."
