Mandla Ncikazi opens up on Mabhuti Khenyeza relationship at Golden Arrows

There has been a lot of talk in KwaZulu-Natal about whether the two coaches can work together after so many clashes between the two during times when they were working for different clubs.

Ncikazi has now opened up about the return of Khenyeza to the club and how they are working together as the team currently enjoys an unbeaten start to the DStv Premiership season.

"Maybe it's a coincidence that happened but Mabhuti Khenyeza was supposed to come back and join the technical team when Steve Komphela was still around," Ncikazi recently revealed to the media in KZN.

"So when Khenyeza was coming in and Steve was leaving, it was not an appointment of joining to replace Komphela, he was already in the plans of joining as an MDC coach."

Ncikazi says the prolific former striker brings a lot of experience to the team and his excellent style of working with youngsters is benefiting the team immensely, hence he is happy to work with him.

"The club is still looking for a MDC coach because I'm happy and comfortable working with him. I've worked with him as a player, his history is massive, a legend in the game with a lot of experience," he added.

"He is very good for youngsters and strikers. What has been lacking at the club is goals and Mabhuti is helping the strikers, showing them what should be done at what time. He is very valuable to the team."

Arrows' next DStv Premiership match is against in-form Swallows FC at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday (15h30).
