Mamelodi Sundowns vow to field strong team against Maritzburg United

Downs assistant coach Alex Bapela insists the Brazilians will not take their foot off the pedal after clinching championship honours on Tuesday with a 3-0 defeat of Tshwane neighbours SuperSport United.

Bapela told his club's website: "First of all we don’t have fringe players, because if you look at how we did this season its clear to see that all our players have equal contribution towards us winning the League. In the second round it was a different set of players who came to the party.

"Against them we will field a strong lineup, also to show them the respect they deserve. We also want to go for the 11th successive win and finish strong this season."

Sundowns have 64 points from 29 matches - four points ahead of second-placed Kaizer Chiefs, who end their campaign against top-eight chasing AmaZulu.

United, in 10th place on the Premiership table, are safe from relegation but are out of contention for a spot at next term's MTN8.
