Maluti FET College feed off Orlando Pirates upset Ramoreboli

The Phuthaditjhaba-based outfit, who thumped Bucs 4-1 in February, are currently fifth in the National First Division standings with 11 points from seven games – six points behind log leaders Milano United.

"I think we needed something to build our confidence on our way to the Second Division Play-off," Ramoreboli tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"We managed to beat Pirates and that victory on its own was a motivating boost because you go into the Play-off beating Pirates and the players would believe that they can beat any team after beating Pirates.

"The way the victory over Pirates helped us has been very positive. All our players know that no one is better than them no matter which 11 we play against. As long there is 11 players in one team we’ll compete for the same results. That’s exactly what’s happening now."

Maluti FET College had a rocky start to the campaign, losing their opening two fixtures against African Warriors and Baroka FC. Ramoreboli, however, feels his men are starting to find their feet.

"We didn’t start good but I’m glad that we started that way," Ramoreboli says.

"Now things are starting to shape up. We now need to stay focused and prepare to win but I believe that there is room for improvement.

"I would say I think the players needed to settle down because we never had have pre-season. The first few games were part of our pre-season.

"There were a few games we saw those mistakes and that’s where we worked on them. But I believe the players they have done well and the first two matches were a learning curve."

He added: "The main aim at the moment is about the number of games that we can win and yes we didn’t start well.

"However the aim was to make sure that when we finish the first round we should have at least collected 30 or 35 points.

"At the moment we are not worried about been number three or number one on the log, but as long we are able to win our games then anything is possible for us."
