Football analyst Junior Khanye says the recent player exodus proves Kaizer Chiefs often recruit players without the necessary assessment.
Chiefs on Thursday announced a host of big-name departures, with the likes of Lebogang Manyama, Samir Nurkovic, Kearyn Baccus, Leonardo Castro, Lazarus Kambole, Daniel Akpeyi and Daniel Cardoso all leaving.
"Kaizer Chiefs didn't perform proper assessments before signing Nurkovic," Khanye tells KickOff.
"I don't understand why they recruited him because their style of play doesn't suit him.
"That's where they began to go off path Kaizer Chiefs do not play with a target man.

"You need to create space for yourself as a Chiefs striker, and I don't know who recommended him.
"Again, who recommended Lazarus Kambole at Chiefs, I don't think they assessed him, he was probably recommended by someone they trust.
"You cannot say you were a top goalscorer in the league you were playing in before, and then come here and score two goals in three seasons.
That's a disaster for an international player.
"Now let's look at Manyama, a former Footballer of the Season winner, yes he's good, but not for Kaizer Chiefs.
"He is supposed to have reached his full potential already, I think the Kaizer Chiefs badge was too heavy for him, he didn't live up to expectations.
"Cardoso, with the mistakes he commits does for a senior player, deserves to be transferred, as he is not comfortable with starting play from the back.
"So I think they've done well in releasing these players."
