Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Blom previews Baroka FC match

Chiefs travel to Baroka on Thursday at the back of having not lost in their last seven games across all competitions – the first time that they have gone this long without tasting defeat this season.

Having risen above expectations to squeeze into the CAF Champions League quarter-finals at the first attempt, what will still matter most is how they finish off in the league.

"I feel like as a team, we are ready for Baroka. We have been preparing well and we have been doing things right on and off the field. I think the confidence is there, we have just grinded good results, the momentum is there, and the team spirit is good," Blom is quoted as saying on the club's website.

For all the challenges that Chiefs have faced this term, they will also arrive at Peter Mokaba aware that Baroka has always been a thorn in the flesh for them.

Baroka have given as much as they have received from Chiefs returning every blow that has landed on their faces with their own in the opposite direction.

Bakgaga have managed to hold it up and keep it all square up to now, three wins apart and five draws from 11 meetings – one of which hurt Chiefs the most as they lost last season's league title on the last day.

"They have been a difficult team for us, but we are ready for them. We saw last season they took the league away from us because we did not beat them in the final game. We know what to expect on Thursday and we are not going to underestimate them. They are a very hard running team and a very hard-working team. That said, we are ready for the fight and we will give our best and hopefully get the required three points," says Blom who has only not been involved in just one game all season.
