Qalinge spent just one season at SuperSport after joining from Pirates in July last year, and has now been handed his release papers by the Tshwane outfit.
The 28-year-old once promising star, who made a name for himself with Mpumalanga Black Aces before signing with The Buccaneers in 2014, managed just five appearances during his stay with Matsatsantsa.
His struggles, however, date as far back to his arrival as he carried an injury that prevented him from getting a real opportunity under Tembo.
"For me, the main issue with Thabo is that he never really got going with us because of injuries. When he arrived, he had an ankle injury and it took him time to really get an opportunity to play," Tembo explained to the SA Football Journalists' Association.
"At the same time, we've had other players in his position also doing well, so it was a little bit difficult for him, which also frustrated him because he wanted to play. But he really just couldn't get going because of the injuries."
Now, 'Secton 10' will have to attempt to resurrect his career elsewhere but will need to wait until the end of the 2019/20 campaign before being available to play competitively next season again.
