Highlands Park will bring back striker Moeketsi Sekola from Chippa United in January

According to Da Gama, Sekola will be recalled from loan at Chippa United, where he’s scored two goals in 14 appearances.

Da Gama, who has worked with Sekola in the Bafana Bafana setup, says the forward is a quality player and will add value to a Highlands side currently fighting to win automatic promotion. The Lions of the North are just two points ahead of second-placed Jomo Cosmos in the National First Division.

Sekola has not rediscovered the form which saw him finishing as the league’s top scorer in 2014/15. He has shown glimpses of brilliance, but has been unable to rattle the back of the net on a regular basis.

Da Gama, however, believes in the striker’s ability and is hoping he can play a big role for the club in the second half of the season.

“Yes, he is our player and he will be coming back. He wants to come back, which is a plus for us because we are challenging for promotion. He’s a quality player and I have worked with him in the national team,” Da Gama says.

Highlands will be back in action on January 7 when they take on Super Eagles away from home at Goble Park.
