KickOff can confirm that Tignyemb has now finally received a settlement fee of US$ 200 715 (approximately R3 million) which was paid out by the PSL last week.
With the payment being an international transfer the funds have since been reflected in Tignyemb's account in Cameroon where he now resides.
"I write to inform you that our client has just confirmed receipt of the funds and we no longer wish to continue our claim against Bloemfontein Celtic," Tignyemb's legal representation, Johnny Precious Ogbah, head of Sports Law (Africa) at the Activity Chambers said.
The former Cameroon youth international took his case of unfair dismissal to FIFA after an ugly end to his 11 year-stay at the club including confrontations with club officials.
FIFA then ruled in Tignyemb's favour for unfair dismissal in October last year, with the club dragging its feet in duly making the outstanding payment, resulting in a two-window transfer ban.
Tignyemb's legal representatives then escalated the matter to the PSL and SAFA as they sought to press Celtic into paying citing that the club was in breach of CAF Club Licensing Regulations and thus should not be allowed to register.
The league then obliged by deducting the from Celtic's monthly PSL grant as per instruction from the club, which was struggling with financial troubles.
Confirmation of Celtic's sale to Royal AM late last week came after the league had already initiated the process of transferring the funds to Tignyemb's bank account in Cameroon.
With the sale of Celtic's PSL status, Tignyemb will remain the club's record appearance maker after surpassing the legendary Willem Vries.
Tignyemb fled to Cameroon last year for safety reasons when he sought to be paid by the club and has indicated to KickOff that he is considering continuing his career in his homeland.
