Kaizer Chiefs legend Fani Madida has made a bold claim as he reflected on his former employers' contribution to South African football.
Madida, a renowned striker during his day, spent five seasons with Chiefs between 1987 and 1992, before launching himself into the Turkish top-flight.

He later returned to the club to serve as assistant coach to Muhsin Ertugral for a two-year spell that yielded two trophies between 2007 and 2009.
Having experienced Amakhosi culture as both a player and a coach, the 53-year-old, who has also worked for the likes of AmaZulu and Moroka Swallows, believes the Soweto outfit is head and shoulders above the rest.

"Kaizer Chiefs is an institution. They are trendsetters, who are not called the Glamour Boys for nothing. They always set the standard for others to follow," Madida told Chiefs' website.
"It was such an honour to have served Kaizer Chiefs, a club with such a rich history and which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
"When I joined the club, we took over from a generation of winners and we managed to raise the Kaizer Chiefs flag even higher. We set our own standard for the next generation."
