Mako was knocked unconscious during Orlando Pirates' 0-0 draw against Baroka on Tuesday when he collided with goalkeeper Richard Ofori and was rushed to the hospital where he has been diagnosed with having suffered fractures to his face and nose.
"Richard took it quite hard," he said. "When you have that clash you feel responsible, but in actual fact, he was not responsible. He was going for the ball and I've watched the replay again and both of them were looking at the ball.
"His knee caught [Mako] in the face and knocked him out. He's got a wound on his knee that also made him realise how serious it is. For him to have a wound the way he does, he must have knocked him really hard."
