Orlando Pirates legend Steve "Chippa" Lekoelea is against the new trend of head coaches demanding to bring along their own technical staff to clubs that employ them.
The former Pirates jersey number 10 says this will not only leave most people jobless, but it will also kill club football culture.

"This new trend will destroy our football, it's going to destroy clubs' culture and style of play," Lekoelea says, in an exclusive interview with KickOff.
"There will be no continuity in teams. Clubs will be forced to start afresh each time a new coach is employed.
"This thing is going to kill a lot of teams. Mamelodi Sundowns have won so many league titles because they've been using the same technical staff.
"The culture was not lost," he continues.
Asked if the recent departures from The Brazilians' bench will have any negative effect on the defending champions going into next season, Lekoelea says only time will tell.
"Will the exodus of their technical staff affect them? We will only find answers after their first game of the season."
As an example, Nasreddine Nabi's talks with Kaizer Chiefs prior to last season collapsed after the club could not accede to his demand to bring his own technical team, although the new Amakhosi coach has now been allowed to choose his own technical team as he begins life at the club.
This has seen the likes of Cavin Johnson, Dillon Sheppard and Aubrey Mathibe vacate the bench to be redeployed or let go completely.
"I think all this is caused by insecurities from the side of coaches, they want people they can trust in their technical teams.
"Some of these assistant coaches can't be trusted though, but football will always be like that, there will be backstabbers.

"Some assistant coaches will always try to pave the way for their unemployed friends. They want to find jobs for their friends," adds the man popularly known as 'Kideo' during his playing days.
