TS Galaxy moved up to seventh spot on the DStv Premiership table after defeating Golden Arrows 3-1 on Sunday evening.
New additions on either showed, as Galaxy debuted Kaizer Chiefs graduate Puso Dithejane before Arrows unleashed January arrivals John Mwengani, Kagiso Malinga and Moyela Libamba.
The latter enjoyed a dream debut when he latched on the end of Sibusiso Sibeko's ball to the back-post and profited comfortably seven minutes on the spin.
Galaxy were under more pressure a while later as the Rockets looked to add more from a smartly taken free-kick by Knox Mutizwa, but it was smothered to safety.
The home side were able to gather themselves towards halftime and levelled when Thato Khiba lashed home Lindokuhle Mbatha's delivery across the face of goal.
A forced alteration were needed by the home side in the remaining minutes to halftime, with Kamogelo Sebelebele shoved in for Dithejane.
Galaxy remained buoyant and were ahead seconds to the break after Lehlohonolo Mojela caught the host flat-footed with a smart move and finished smartly.
Abafana Besthende were eager to draw level straight from the break through penetrative moves involving Libamba, Sibeko and Mutizwa but couldn't get any sight.
The Rockets didn't have it all their way despite the lead as Abafana Besthende continued to urge forward in key pursuit of the equaliser.
New signing Malinga looked effective and quite intimidating in the final third in the hope to help them bounce back from the one-goal deficit.
Galaxy added the final nail in the visitors' coffin with five minutes to go through a superbly taken finish on the near side of the area by Samir Nurkovic.
Malinga got a huge chance to get the visitors a second deep in additional time, but snapped wide of the mark and saw Galaxy to a comprehensive victory.
