Bloemfontein Celtic look to remedy scoring woes with a 'box player'

So blunt have Celtic been upfront that they have scored just eight goals in 14 league matches and remain the only club yet to reach double figures in the scoring charts.

At present Celtic have Ayanda Dlamini, Vuyisile Wana, Fiston Abdul Razak, Atusaye Nyondo, Moeketsi Mvula, Sidney Masana and Tshegofatso Mabaso as their options upfront but none has provided the solutions to the goal scoring problems.

No one at Celtic has managed to score even two goals halfway through the season with league top scorer Tendai Ndoro having already scored more goals (11) than the entire Siwelele squad.

“Upfront we are toothless,” remarks Seema.

“But not in a bad way because we haven’t created chances. We have strikers that can score but we need somebody, we have more of the 10s, the false 9s or whatever term you want to use.

"We need more of a box player, the ones that my ex-coach [Paul] Dolezar used to call the big animals. I am happy with what I have got and I have worked through with what I have got until the break and we got points here and there and we got disappointed here and there but I will hear from the management."

Celtic will also have the option of stretching their search for a box striker beyond the borders as they still have the foreign space while they can also de-register any foreign player that they no longer need during the January transfer window as per the new PSL regulations.
