New TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic enjoyed a winning start after a 3-1 victory over Sekhukhune United in the Betway Premiership on Tuesday evening.
Sekhukhune were boosted by the return of Daniel Cardoso, Njabulo Ngcobo, Thabang Monare and Vusimuzi Mncube as four changes from the side that beat Richards Bay prior to the FIFA break.
New TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic kept the same side that drew with Stellenbosch in Sead Ramovic's last game, Dzenan Zajmovic and Victor Letsoalo led the attack.
The Rockets were quick off the blocks and their pressure paid off midway into the first stanza after a strike by Zajmovic came off the crossbar and ricochetted off Tresor Yamba and went over the goal-line.
Beganovic's charges continued to have momentum and Letsoalo doubled their lead with a looping strike on the edge of the box after he was sent through on goal by Zajmovic.
Sekhukhune could not get going and combine in the last third and needed to make improvements from the break to trouble goalkeeper Ira Tape.
Lehlohonolo Seema withdrew Mbule at half-time and brought on Lesedi Kapinga to take the game to Galaxy.
The visitors were happy to play on counter-attacks from the break and Zajmovic put the game to bed for The Rockets on 65 minutes and completed his brace with a strike in the box from a quick transition.
Galaxy changed their attacking approach with 20 minutes to go, as they handed new signing, former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keagan Dolly in place of Zajmovic.
The Mpumalanga side looked more likely to score than United in the closing stages but Kapinga got a consolation goal for Babina Noko in added time with a low strike from the edge of the box.
Galaxy picked up their first victory of the season.
