Both AmaZulu and Moroka Swallows are in desperate need of a win as they tackle Polokwane City and Chippa United respectively.
But while Usuthu can look to history for inspiration in their match-up with Rise and Shine, The Birds can only look back with trepidation at their record against the Chilli Boyz.
AmaZulu are unbeaten in five previous matches against City, and have won both home encounters they have played against the club, dating back to the latter’s previous incarnation as Bay United.
Their three previous visits to City have all resulted in draws, but they will be looking for much more than that against Kosta Papic’s side with the chance to move out of the relegation zone if they win and Swallows lose.
And that is a distinct possibility with The Birds having never before beaten Chippa in their three previous matches.
Mich d’Avray’s side won their home fixture 2-1 in the 2012/13 season and were also comfortable 2-0 winners at Swallows earlier this season when the Nigeria Ugonna Uzochukwu and now departed striker David Zulu got the goals.
The other match-up between the two teams finished 1-1 in 2012.
