Absa Premiership match report Black Leopards v SuperSport United 12 January 2019

Leopards made no changes from their derby win over Baroka FC, with SuperSport making three from their last-gasp set-back at home to Cape Town City.

The home side started promisingly and orchestrated a good chance where Mwape Musonda narrowly missed connection on a through pass that allowed Ronwen Williams to rush off his line to make a save.

With just under ten minutes remaining, A call for offside was dismissed as Tshwarelo Bereng found space inside the box but the forward shot horribly over the top with Williams left for dead.

United realised their in-effectiveness in attack and called Bradley Grobler off the bench, who returned from a lengthy injury layoff to replace Thabo Mnyamane at the start of the second half.

Lidoda Duvha were out to continue their first-half assertion and they managed to win a penalty after Grant Kekana was adjudged to have handled inside the box. Musonda made no mistake from the spot to put the hosts ahead on 56 minutes.

United no had it all to do, and a glancing header Grobler was the closest the three-time PSL champions came to grabbing an immediate response on 60 minutes.

With 15 minutes to go, Leopards shot-stopper King Ndlovu came up trumps for the home side with an outstanding save to keep out Aubrey Modiba's free-kick.

The win was secured late on as Musonda latched onto Bereng’s through ball to beat the offside trap and finish at the near post for his second of the game.
