'We're sending Chiefs straight to relegation zone'

In this edition of Supporters Forum, prominent Orlando Pirates supporter Frank 'Beekeeper' Masondo shares his thought on the upcoming Soweto Derby, sending a big warning to rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

The two giants lock horns under the Betway Premiership banner at FNB Stadium on Saturday, with another derby, a Nedbank Cup final, taking place seven days later in Durban.

"We have a busy schedule as Pirates this week, and I feel sorry for the teams we're facing immediately after the disaster that happened in Egypt," says 'Beekeeper'.

"Right now, Pirates is like a mamba that someone has stepped on its tail. That's a very dangerous situation because they will die for something they aren’t responsible for.

"The Soweto Derby is the perfect opportunity for us to find some solace. Both derbies are important to us, but the match on the 10th carries more significance because there’s a trophy at stake. It’s a Woolworths Soweto Derby, and we will be saying, 'Farewell, goodbye, Spanish Guitar'.

"It has been far too long since our neighbours were last in a cup final, and we know they’ve forgotten the traditions associated with the national anthem. We will be there to remind them of the proper way to place their hand during the anthem.

"In this upcoming match, both clubs are vying for three points for different reasons. Our three points will bring us closer to the league title, while Chiefs need their three points to escape the relegation zone, which is exactly where we plan to send them on Saturday.

"I want to remind our players that no dead rabbit should come back to life at our expense.

"This weekend, we are going to FNB Stadium to give them guidance so they don’t get lost on their way to Moses Mabhida Stadium next week," adds Masondo.
