Such is the simplicity of the Orlando Pirates slogan – 'Once a Pirate, always a Pirate' – that its relevance is always as clear as daylight.
While the MTN8 final pitting Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns plays out at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday (18h00), this decider will not only be an attraction to the confines of South Africa or the SADC region.

Some 7500km away there will be keen interest in the densely populated city of Lagos with Onyekachi Okonkwo leading the pair of eyes that will be glued on television.
"Once and always my brother," declares Okonkwo – who had two spells at Pirates during his playing days.
Okonkwo first came to Pirates during the 2004/05 season and then left in July 2007 before returning five years later to spend a season as the clock ticked towards the twilight of his playing days.
"I only know of one team in South Africa and that is Orlando Pirates, Amabhakabhaka.
"I say 'Up the Bucs'.
"I stand with Pirates on any day because this is the team that introduced me to South African football, and this is the team that I still follow up to this day.
"We are winning the trophy, and you don't even need to worry about that.
"This trophy is going back to Orlando.
"This trophy is ours.

"I will obviously be watching on television just like I have been doing all along.
"The results haven't gone our way against Sundowns in recent times, but this is a cup final and the perfect time to make all Pirates fans happy again.
"We are the happy people," says Okonkwo, who is now involved in the real estate and restaurant business.
