Ouaddou: As a coach is it a crime to do that

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is welcoming the 'headache' presented by his star-studded squad and has stated that he will not be limiting the players' skilful attributes.

The Soweto giants are preparing to face Sekhukhune United in their Betway Premiership season opener at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, hot on the heels of an MTN8 quarterfinals win over Polokwane City.

The match against Rise and Shine provided The Buccaneers faithful their first taste of Pirates' new look squad that includes Sipho Mbule, Oswin Appollis and Sihle Nduli among others

All three took turns showcasing some of their more flamboyant skills, add in Relebohile Mofokeng and Patrick Maswanganyi, and you have a squad beaming with creative talent and not shy to take a few minutes off the clock to showcase some Kasi Flava.

Speaking to the media at the launch of the Betway Premiership on Tuesday, Ouaddou said he would not be overly strict on his players' playing style.

"I'm a happy coach. When you have such talented players. Of course, you can have a headache at the end of the week to make your starting eleven.

"But yes, I want to give to my players - especially these kinds of players, these talented, to give them autonomy. I don't want to block them in the way they play.

"Of course, I give them some principles, very important, we don't have to kill the creativity for these kinds of players. As a coach. It is a crime to do that."
