Although yet to kick a ball for his new side, Orlando Pirates' latest signing Deano van Rooyen has received a thumbs-up from a club legend.
The Soweto giants have acted swiftly in strengthening their squad ahead of the new season with the acquisition of Gilberto from Petro de Luanda and Selaelo Rasebotja from SuperSport United.

Van Rooyen was officially unveiled as the newest recruit at Houghton on Monday, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal with the option to add two more years.
Although he's yet to kick a ball for in Pirates colours, retired ex-Bucs midfielder Shakes Gwabeni believes the 27-year-old has done more than enough to convince any doubters of his quality.
"I think he's a good signing for the team," Gwabeni revealed.
"He has a lot of experience in the PSL and showed that he has the quality. Obviously, it is a different club with different levels of demands, but if he plays selflessly for the team and for himself, he will be a great addition."

The former Stellies captain will be vying for a starting spot against the likes of Thabiso Monyane, Bandile Shandu and Thabiso Lebitso.
The right-back position has been somewhat of a problematic area for Pirates, with Shandu and Monyane sustaining injuries at some point during last season.
It is a scenario that prompted head coach Riveiro to temporarily employ attacking midfielder Fortune Makaringe at right-back.
Eventually, the club signed Lebitso from Chippa United and although he fared well, he is not traditionally a right-back, having played as a winger for the Chilli Boys and the Tshwane University of Technology.
This all made the signing of a traditional right-back all the more important, as Bucs seek to not only unseat Mamelodi Sundowns as the kings of South African football but also to have a good go in the CAF Champions League.
