With Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou having copped flak for dismantling a winning team early on in his tenure, KickOff compares his start to that of his predecessor Jose Riveiro.
Ouaddou had an almost 50% change in Pirates' regular line-up from last season in their first Betway Premiership encounter, which they lost 1-0 to Sekhukhune United on Saturday.

Riveiro enjoyed a winning start in August 2022, beating Moroka Swallows 1-0, after incorporated three new signing in his starting line-up: Bienvenu Eva Nga, Tapelo Xoki, and Nkosinathi Sibisi.
Under the soft-spoken mentor, however, Bucs dropped points in three successive matches after that, even though he had kept the core of the team he inherited under the co-coaching duo of Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids.
The lesson, though, was the consistency in not rushing new signings, as the Spaniard had to deal with a total of 14 new additions, with the likes of Kermit Erasmus, Sipho Chaine, Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, and Evidence Makgopa only integrated as the season progressed.
