Who and where did you play?
"I'm a Soweto guy; when I started playing football as a young kid, I wasn't aware it could end up as a career. My first team as a young kid was Rockville Santos.
"That was from the age of 10. I played for them until such time I turned professional.
"After Rockville Santos, Jomo Cosmos was the next team I played for. From Cosmos, I went to Leeds United [RSA] for six months; after that, I joined Orlando Pirates.
"After Pirates, it was Moroka Swallows for a few months, then Wits University FC."
What is your nickname?
"Black Sunday"
Who gave it to you and why?
"I earned the name Black Sunday while still at Rockville Santos, which was around the 70s; it was after the movie called Black Sunday, a sports movie about a planned terrorist attack.
"And from there, whenever I had the ball, the crowd would shout 'Black Sunday! Black Sunday!', and coincidentally we used to play our games on Sundays. And by the time our matches finished, it was almost dark.
"That's how I became Black Sunday."
Did you like it?
"To me, it didn't matter because it was through excitement from our supporters, people who were enjoying my game. I was always on top of my game so it didn't matter much."
Anyone that didn't use it?
"I remember at lower primary I used to play at the back, which would enable me to be always in possession of the ball; I would dispossess our opponent's strikers and dribble past everyone and score on the other side. So because of that, they would call me 'Stopper'. Even today, some of my former schoolmates still call me Stopper."
If you could relive it what would you want your nickname to be?
"I never entertained this thing of giving myself a nickname, although most of my friends would call themselves Pele, Ten-Ten, and so on, and those names would stick."
