'In this one, Pirates will get a 1-0 win'

Former Orlando Pirates defender Innocent Chikoya says although he expects Cape Town City to be a tougher opponent than Disciples FC of Madagascar, he still expects Jose Riveiro's men to do the business in the rainy and windy conditions.

On Tuesday, the red-hot Buccaneers are up against the Mother City-based outfit in a mouth-watering MTN8 semi-final first-leg encounter at DHL Stadium.

"In terms of the team they played on Friday, the strength is different to Cape Town City's," Chikoya says, previewing the game with KickOff.

"We don't know how the league is over there. We don't know where these Disciples came from compared to the South African league. The local league is tough.

"I think both Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City have done well. They've both won all their competitive games played so far in South Africa, which is an advantage for both teams.

"When it comes to the MTN8 semis, I always say it's not two legs but one leg with two halves. Each leg is like a half.

"Whoever wins the game will have a psychological advantage, and whoever is gonna be chasing the game will have an advantage of saying in the second leg, we've got nothing to lose," adds the ex-fullback.

Chikoya was then asked to put his head on the block and predict who will come out victorious on Tuesday.

"So, in this one, I will give Pirates an edge. They've played more games than City, which means they've got a better [level of] fitness in terms of more mileage in their legs.

"Remember, Pirates, every game they are home because of their supporters. Usually, Cape Town teams give us a headache, but I think in this one, Pirates will get a 1-0 win."
