Black Leopards fire ex-Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Robert Modiadie

Modiadie joined Leopards at the beginning of last season but has battled for regular game-time at the club. John Mphatsoe, the player’s agent, confirms the experienced goalkeeper’s dismissal.

snl24.com/kickoff has also seen a letter of dismissal from the club that cites reasons why Modiadie has been shown the door.

“With regard to the specificity of sport, the selection criteria for players selected to follow the retrenchment process was an objective one wherein you were the weakest from the list of goalkeepers employed by the club,” reads part of the notice of dismissal addressed to Modiadie.

“It is specifically recorded that the process is not a result of poor performance but rather the club's operational requirements … you are further reminded of your right to refer any dispute in respect of this dismissal to the Dispute Resolution Chamber.”

Modiadie is now understood to be heading out to try his luck at fellow NFD side Thanda Royal Zulu.
