With Karim Kimvuidi having stagnated since he made the big switch from KZN to Orlando Pirates, the biggest challenge in unlocking the 23-year-old's full potential has been revealed.
Since joining Pirates from Maritzburg United in 2023, Kimvuidi has struggled to meet expectations, making only 26 appearances and scoring two goals, with no assist provided.

"We cannot say his signing was a waste of money because he showed promise while at Maritzburg United," thoughtful Katlego Mashego notes while discussing the situation with KickOff.com.
"Him moving to a bigger club meant that a lot was expected, and you need to adjust and fight for a place in the team.
"The fact that they have kept him for so long indicates they see some improvement in his game. He just needs to fight a little more. I believe they signed him because he is a good player, but that comes with its own challenges at times.
"As a skillful player, he has an element of surprise, but I’m not sure what his best position is. That’s the challenge with skillful players," says 'Mahoota'.
Mashego believes the dilemma lies in whether the Congolese star's potential can be unloced best as a number 10 or from out on the wings.
"That is the difficulty. As a coach, you might not know where to position him.

"He has been at Pirates for some time now, probably two seasons, and at the moment, I don’t think he can replace anyone in the team.
"Whether he gets released will depend on how much the club and the coaches value him. They need to determine if he is a good squad player to keep, if they should send him out on loan, or perhaps clarify which position they want him to play," adds the man from Bushbuckridge.
