Matsatsantsa were booted out of the Nedbank Cup by their city rivals, with Sibusiso Vilakazi netting the winner early in the first half for Sundowns.
"I think this is one game we dominated. We dominated from start to finish; probably we lacked that killer punch especially in the final third. When you see Sundowns parking the bus in the final 20 minutes, then we were on top of them," Tembo told SuperSport TV.
"I think credit to the guys they played very well. I have no complaints in terms of effort, in terms of overall performance I think we played very well. We deserved something," the Zimbabwean added.
As far as their offensive approach goes, Tembo has no qualms on the way that the team set out as the players 'left everything on the pitch today'.
"Most definitely. I think we played against a good team. They took their chance and scored and we didn't. But I think in terms of performance we can build from this. For me, I have no issues with the players they came out and left everything on the pitch today," he said.
Officiating in the league this season has raised eyebrows and amidst a few challenges that went unpunished on either side, Tembo believes some decisions didn't go their way.
"It was. I don't know, I thought some decisions didn't really go our way. I don't want to go there. What's important for me is what I saw from my team. Other issues…I don't want to go there I just want to focus on my team and I'm happy with the performance," he added.
