The 2019/20 Nedbank Cup draw took place in Johannesburg on Thursday evening, with several big clashes lined up for some of the top Absa Premiership sides.
Pirates are set to meet Bidvest Wits at Orlando Stadium in the opening round of the competition at a date yet to be announced.
With The Buccaneers having fallen short in the MTN8, CAF Champions' League and Telkom Knockout this season, the Absa Premiership is also slipping out of their reach as log leaders Kaizer Chiefs sit 14 points ahead after 16 rounds of games.
But Jele is optimistic of their chances of going the distance in the FA cup as he revealed hopes of delivering silverware to the club chairman Irvin Khoza by May.
"It's been a while not winning any silverware, so I think this one is going to be very important for the team," the skipper told his club's social platforms.
"Playing for the fans and playing for the chairman, because he's been supporting us all these years, so obviously it would be nice to win the trophy for him.
"We want to go out and play our normal football and do well for the team."
On the challenge of facing The Clever Boys, the 33-year-old stressed the importance of avenging their 4-3 league defeat back in September.
"It's a big game, and it's a very exciting challenge for us to play against Wits, but I'm hoping we'll be prepared very well because the first game we played them in the league, we lost the game," he added.
"But coming to this one, we're looking forward to it and we're going to do well as a team."
